Ralph Eugene Devine, age 76, of the Deep Creek Community of Washington County, KY passed away at 9:38 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
He was born in Lebanon, KY on June 24, 1948 to the late Ralph and Katherine Shewmaker Devine.
He was a member of the Mackville Baptist Church, a 1966 graduate of Mackville High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University and was a retired thirty year employee of Corning and while serving as union president for several years, he served as a trustee for Peter Cemetery for many years. Eugene was also an employee for fifty years with the United States Department of Agriculture where he served as a supervisor of statistics and was a lifelong farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia Yankey Devine; a son, Kevin Devine (Jenni) of Perryville; a daughter, Lori Burns (Ashley) of Springfield; three grandchildren, Brennon Devine, Tyler Devine (Suvannah) and McKenzie Burns; a great grandchild, Karston Devine; a brother, Jimmie Devine (Pam) of Springfield and two sisters, Rosemary Devine of Springfield and Penny Rummage of Cox’s Creek.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 4th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Davis, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. J. W. Hatfield.
Burial will be in Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Devine, Brennon Devine, Tyler Devine, Ashley Burns, Al Hewetson, Brad Noel and Greg McCloud. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Brady and Tim Tuttle.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 on Sunday.
