Etta Jean Ross Washburn Grigsby, age 92, of Springfield, KY passed away at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.
A native of Washington County, she was born on July 11, 1930 to the late James Wagner and Lula Blanch Stine Ross.
She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, a homemaker and a former employee of the Springfield Redrying Company.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, James Helem Washburn on February 18, 1954; her second husband, Roy Franklin Grigsby, Sr. on December 21, 1989; three sons, Wayne Washburn on June 21, 1974, Eddie M. Washburn on April 21, 2007 and Roy Franklin Grigsby, Jr. on July 1, 2017; a step-son, Billy Grigsby on February 16, 1999; a step-daughter, Beverly Spalding on March 24, 2017; two grandchildren, Scotty Grigsby and James J. Washburn and two brothers, Earnest Ford Ross on January 28, 1980 and Joe Adams Ross on August 4, 2010.
Survivors include a son, Larry Washburn (Phyllis) of Chaplin; a daughter, Deloris Smith (Kenny) of Springfield; a step-daughter, Betty Weakley of Springfield; a step-son, Calvin Grigsby (Alice) of Mt. Washington; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and a sister, Bonnie Chesser of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 23rd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tobe Yankey, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Tom Sparrow.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Megan Dues, Kiersten Ray, Jeanette McCue, Sherry Fry and Tina Polk.
Serving as casket bearers will be grandsons, Jesse Smith, Jason Washburn, Frank Grigsby, Tony Grigsby, Glenn Weakley, Ricky Spalding and Allen Spalding.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Friday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
