Ethel Mae (Sallee) Russell

Ethel Mae Sallee Russell, age 93, of Springfield, KY passed away at 3:30 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2022 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born in Washington County on March 24, 1928 to the late Orville and Lura Carter Sallee.

She was a member of the Springfield Christian Church, a former employee of Cowden’s Manufacturing of Springfield and a retired employee of Cricketeer of Harrodsburg.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard Harold Russell on April 7, 1996 and two brothers, Camellis Sallee and J.L. Sallee.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Ann (Felix) Reynolds of Lancaster, Janice Sue (Bobby) Brady of Springfield and Lynette Settles of Springfield; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Gene Sallee of Harrodsburg and four sisters, Mary Katherine Hopkins of Del Rio, Texas, JoAnn Lay of Scottsdale, Arizona, Joyce Sallee of Harrodsburg and Ernestine Crecelius of Milltown, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3rd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Roland Youmans, minister of the Springfield Christian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Reynolds, Paul Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds, Tim Lawson, Paul Noel and Bo Cox.

Visitation will be after 11:00 Thursday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
