Esther Martinez Kudyba, age 74, of Springfield, KY passed away at 4:48 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the University of Lexington Medical Center.
She was born in Waco, Texas on August 8, 1949 to the late Juan and Esther Lopez Martinez.
She was a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas. Esther and her husband, Victor resided in Michigan for thirty-five years where she was employed as a social worker for the State of Michigan for several years but most of all she was committed to her family as a wife, mother and homemaker. In 2005 following retirement they purchased the former Hatchett home on Perryville Road in Springfield where they enjoyed spending time together. Esther and Victor enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family. Esther was an avid gardener, a devout Christian and enjoyed spending time in the Word of God.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Victor Joseph Kudyba on November 2, 2022; a brother, David Moreno; a special aunt and uncle who raised her, Damacio and Sophia Cantu and a brother-in-law, Terry Eubank, Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Carmela Elizabeth Kudyba of Springfield, Marisa Rebecca Ciesla (Ross) of Guildford, England and Dr. Katherine Alisa Morone (Dr. Peter) of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, Jackson Ryder Ciesla, Elliott Aaron Ciesla, Samuel Damacio Morone, Nora Sage Morone and John Pax Morone and three sisters, Virginia Eubank of Rockford, MI, Emma Martinez (Pete) of Murphy, TX and Deborah Mundy (Adam) of Maui, HI.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 3rd at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Yankey, officiating.
Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ross Ciesla, Dr. Peter Morone, Jackson Ciesla, Terry Eubank, Brian Mattingly and Bobby Joe Mattingly.
Visitation will be from 3 until 5 Saturday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 1:30 Sunday until time of the service at the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
