Ellis Leonard Roach

SGM Retired Ellis L. Roach, Jr. “Sonny” rejoined his beloved wife the former, Mary D. “Peggy” Logan on Valentine’s Day, 2026 after a hard fought battle with prolonged health issues.

He was born in Harrison County, Mississippi on August 30, 1938 to the late Ellis and Della Flowers Roach.

He spent his working career in military service with the United States Army.He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy, two loving daughters, Elyse L. Roach (fiancé Roderick Hudson) of Fayetteville, NC and Marisa D. Roach Scott of the home, the loves of his life his grandchildren, James Ellis and Logan Noell Scott of the home.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, March 2nd at the Johnson Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Roland Pruyear, the church pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Lebanon National Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Monday, March 2nd at the Johnson Chapel AME Zion Church, 300 East High Street, Springfield, KY from 10:00 until 12:00 noon.
