Elizabeth Clementine (Mattingly) Bottoms

Elizabeth Clementine Mattingly Bottoms, age 86, of Springfield, KY passed away peacefully at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.

A native of Marion County, she was born in the Calvary Community on August 28, 1938 to the late Joseph Bertrand and Elizabeth Capitola Thomas Mattingly.

She was a longtime volunteer for the Salvation Army and The Senior Companion Program, as well as, a long standing member of the River of Life Community Church,

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Billy Gene Bottoms on January 27, 2019; a sister, Carolyn Mattingly and two brothers, Gerry Lee Mattingly and Michael Mattingly.

Survivors include her son, Billy Joe Bottoms; a daughter-in-law, Johnya Tingle Bottoms; a sister, Betty Sue (Billy) Devine all of Springfield; three brothers, Bob Mattingly of Lebanon, Bert (Glenda) Mattingly of Campbellsville and Archie (Connie) Mattingly of Loretto; two grandchildren, Jordan (Morgan) Bottoms of Bowling Green and Mackenzie (Nicholas) Sims of Springfield; a special granddaughter, Brooke (Felix) Salazar of Cub Run, KY. She also leaves behind a great granddaughter, Caroline Eliza Bottoms and three special great grandsons, Aiden and Damian Salazar and Jumil Gallegos; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Prewitt of Stanford and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 10th at the River of Life Church with Rev. Troy Shelton, officiating.

Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be D.T. Yocum, Andrew Yocum, Tim Graves, Sabrina McKinley, Aiden Salazar, Damian Salazar and Kelli Patten.

Serving as casket bearers will be Morgan Patten, Mark “Zippo” Spalding, Matthew Garrison, John Higdon, Justin Shelton and Dave Carter.

Visitation will be after 10:00 Tuesday morning at the River of Life Church.
