Edith Juanita Thompson, age 95, of Berry Mill Road, Springfield, passed away at 9:07 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.
A native of Washington County, she was born on March 31, 1928 to the late Amos and Auda Coulter Thompson.
She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were four sisters, Evelyn Cheser on September 18, 2008, Louise Hood on April 16, 2015, Betty Cheatham on February 12, 2018 and Faye Watts on May 17, 2019 and two brothers, Wilmo Thompson on March 16, 1985 and Elmo Thompson on February 21, 2011.
Survivors include two sisters, Marie Lewis (Charles) of Springfield and Blondella Lewis of Bloomfield and two brothers, Billy Thompson (Myrna) of Springfield and Glen Thompson of Willisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 31st at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. J.W. Hatfield, officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Lewis, Robert Lewis, Justin Short, Tracy Thompson, Ronald Lewis and Jacob Cocanougher.
Visitation will be after 10:00 Monday morning.
Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
