Edith Rose (Chesser) Lewis

Edith Rose Chesser Lewis, age 81, of Springfield, KY passed away at 4:10 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at The Willow’s in Harrodsburg.

A native of Washington County, she was born on August 23, 1943 to the late Hollie R. and Mary Gladys Carrier Chesser.

She was a member of The Church of God at Willisburg and a homemaker.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ralph Lewis on December 1, 2013; three sisters, Virgie Haydon on May 16, 2015, Sarah Blanch Carey on December 25, 2021 and Alene Lottis on July 25, 2024 and two brothers, Everett Chesser on September 6, 2016 and Theodore “Skippy”  Chesser on April 11, 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Marty Lewis (Carol) of Willisburg and Nathan Lewis (Heather) of Springfield; five grandchildren, Hannah Cunningham (Michael), Kaitlyn Lewis, IIiya Lewis, Asen Lewis and Jordan Lewis; a brother, Bobby Gene Chesser (Sue) of Willisburg and two sisters, Ann Riley of Springfield and Jean Washburn of Willisburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31st at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Mike Willingham, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Shenna Blake.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.

Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Hood, Robert Blake, Kenny Blake, Darnell White, Mark Boblitt and Dennis Chesser.

Visitation will be at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy from 4 until 8 Friday and after 8:00 Saturday morning.
