Dulah Burkhead Benham, age 81, formerly of the Hardesty Community of Washington County, passed away at 1:15 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Signature Health Care in Taylorsville.
A native of Washington County, she was born on October 19, 1942 to the late Charlie and Katie Hudson Burkhead.
She was a member of the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy, a homemaker and a retired employee of American Greetings.
Preceding her in death was her husband, J. Norris Benham, Jr.; four sisters, Bettie Ruth Burkhead, Doris Humes, Mary Lee Case and Wilma Helen Burkhead and three brothers, Leon, Cleo and Willard Burkhead.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Jerome (Mark) of Springfield; two grandchildren, Katie Jerome (Shaun Luttrell) and Andrew Jerome; two sisters, Flora Mae Auberry of Bloomfield and Carolyn Hardin of Taylorsville and two brothers, James H. “Buddy” Burkhead and Charles Burkhead, Jr. (Mildred) both of Harrodsburg.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17th at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Mike Willingham, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Keith Creech.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Katie Jerome, Andrew Jerome and Shaun Luttrell.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Stevens, Dewayne Hudson, Scott Phillips, Martin Humes, Bruce Case and Stephen Auberry.
Visitation will be at the church from 4 until 8 Tuesday and after 9:00 Wednesday morning.
