Dorothey Jean (Hood) Thompson

Dorothey Jean Hood Thompson, age 83, of Settles Lane, Springfield, KY passed away at 10:24 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

A native of Washington County, she was born on August 31, 1938 to the late Marvin and Bessie Mae Curtsinger Hood.

She was a member of the Willisburg Church of God Of Prophecy and a homemaker.

Preceding her in death was a son, Timothy Darrell Thompson on January 17, 2017 and four brothers, Marvin Leon Hood, Willard Cleo Hood, Vernon Lee Hood and Helem Thomas Hood.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis Thompson; three sons, Anthony Thompson (Amy) and David Thompson (Jackie) of Springfield and Bruce  Thompson (Dana) of Mayodan, NC; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and a sister, May Ola Hardin of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10th at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy with Rev. Mike Willingham, a former pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Harold Best.

Burial will be in the Brush Grove Cemetery at Willisburg.

Serving as a honorary pallbearer will be Cody Hardin. 

Serving as casket bearers will be Anthony Thompson, David Thompson, Bruce Thompson, Stevie Thompson, Harold Hardin, David Shields, Anthony Waldridge and Larry Hood.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Wednesday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 10:00 Thursday morning at the church.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Brush Grove Cemetery Fund.
