Donnie Dean Staton

Donnie Dean Staton, age 82, of Springfield, KY passed away at 2:52 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2025 at his home.

A native of Washington County, he was born on August 10, 1942 to the late John Arthur and Lorine Green Staton.

He was a member of New Beginnings Community Church, a member of J. Speed Smith Masonic Lodge #298 at Willisburg, a retired employee of the General Electric Company and a farmer.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Linda Boblitt Staton on August 21, 2018; three brothers, Alton Staton in 1932, Norman Staton on March 15, 1997 and Bobby Staton on December 7, 2019 and four sisters, May Dell Staton on December 9, 1935, Imogene Wurfel on April 13, 1963, Charlotte Staton on January 14, 2022 and Flora Mae Grubbs on December 21, 2023.

Survivors include a son, Rick Staton and his wife, Charlotte of Springfield; three grandsons, John Marcus Staton (Amanda), Marcus Earl Staton (Krystal) and Austin Fields (Tara); six great grandchildren, Corbin Lane Staton, Aaliya Abrams, Raylee Abrams, Lakin Edwards, Leila Pruitt and Logan Gillis; two brothers, Jimmie Staton (Lisa) of Louisville and Herman “Woody” Staton of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3rd at the New Beginnings Community Church with the Rev. Stacy Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mary Mattingly, Juanita Vernon, Delphia Warner, Dorothy Jones, Britney Keese and Ruth Ann Bottoms.

Serving as casket bearers will be Raymond Warner, Chad Warner, Billy Matherly, Billy Ray Carrico, Austin Fields and Ricky Keese.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 on Monday and after 8 a.m., Tuesday morning at the New Beginnings Community Church.
