Donald Wayne “Don” Carney, Sr., age 61, of Bloomfield Road, Springfield, KY passed away Friday morning, August 19, 2022 at his home.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 9, 1960.
He was a member of the River Of Life Church, a 1979 graduate of Washington County High School, an Air Force veteran and a retired employee of Jim Beam Distillery in Frankfort.
Preceding him in death was his father, Billy Ray Carney; his step-father, Sammy Moore; a sister, Sherry Lee Carney and a brother, Scott Holland.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Lewis Carney; two sons, D.J. Carney of Mt. Vernon and Drew Carney (Christina) of Bradfordsville; three grandchildren, Lily, Amelia and Raelyn Carney; his mother, Betty Kays Moore of Springfield; three sisters, Kathy Spalding (Ricky) and Gwen Sexton (Thomas) of Springfield and Karen Flowers (Shelly) of Cadiz and three brothers, Jeremy Carney of Mt. Washington, Todd Carney (Pat) of Virginia and Doug Moore of Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 22nd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Shelton, officiating.
Following the funeral service military rites will be conducted on Cemetery Hill by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Cremation will follow Honor Guard military rites.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 Sunday at Carey & Son Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Spalding, Rick Moore, Jordan Moore, Joe Shively, Billy Cheser and Bill Lenz.
Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
