Denise (Haydon) Leonard

Denise Haydon Leonard, age 67, of the Deep Creek Community of Washington County, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Louisville, KY on December 9, 1954.

She was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church and a retired nurse’s aid.

Preceding her in death was her father, Thomas B. “Buck” Haydon, her step-mother, Artie Weakley Haydon and a brother, Gerald Haydon.

She is survived by her loving husband of forty-one years, Freddie Leonard; a daughter, Skosha Taylor (Mark) of Indiana; three grandchildren, Kaylea, Kamian and Klover Taylor; her mother, Wanda Milburn Tweed of Illinois; three sisters, Carol Reed (Dick) of Bardstown, Teresa Swanson (Matt) of Illinois and LaQuita Garrett of Lebanon and two brothers, Larry Haydon (Reedie) of Springfield and Dale Tweed of Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday November 17th at the Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Nelson Reynolds, officiating.

Burial will be in the Deep Creek Cemetery.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Linda Coffman, Lucy Murphy, Sandy Hartman, Angie Stagner, Ashley Longhorn, Jennifer Turpin and Sheila Rogers.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jeremy LeRoy, John LeRoy, Terry Leonard, Ricky Spalding, Allen Spalding and Ronnie Lewis.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Wednesday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 9:30 Thursday morning at the Deep Creek Baptist Church.

Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
