Darrol Byrd, age 68, of Willisburg, KY passed away at 8:07 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
He was born in Lebanon, KY on December 2, 1953 to the late James Willard and Frances Lewis Byrd.
He was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church and a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
Preceding him in death was a son, Aaron Cassidy Byrd on June 17, 2007; a grandson, Raymond Griffith; a brother, Jessie J. Byrd on July 18, 1993 and two sisters, Linda Faye Merriman on November 6, 2013 and Louella Merriman on March 18, 2017.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty Bunch Byrd; three sons, Jonny Byrd (Lori) of Murray, Myron Byrd and Skyler Byrd (Mary) of Willisburg; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Baker of Bardstown and Marilyn O’Bryan (Charles) of Springfield; a brother, Norman Byrd (Debbie) of Willisburg and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Monday at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy with Rev. Jeff Smith, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Thomas Hogue and Rev. Louie Baker.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Norman Byrd, Charles O’Bryan, Aaron Byrd, Darrol Holt Byrd, Eddie Byrd, Perry White, Rodney Perry, John Carney and Joe Terrell.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jonny Byrd, Myron Byrd, Skyler Byrd, Shawn Byrd, Logan Byrd and Clayton Bunch.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Sunday at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy.
