Darrell Eugene Dean, age 68, of Willisburg, KY passed away at 5:33 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
A native of Washington County, he was born on April 6, 1952 to the late Roy Yates and Norine Hood Dean.
He was a 1970 graduate of Washington County High School, attended Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy, a retired employee of the General Electric Company and a farmer.
Preceding him in death was a granddaughter, Makyna Dean on June 10, 2014 and two brothers, Andrew Dean on January 11, 2003 and James Porter Dean on December 21, 2015.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Hardesty Dean; three sons, Marcus Dean (Jill) of Lexington, Blake Dean (Miranda) of Georgetown and Derek Dean (Olivia) of Birmingham, AL; his five grandchildren, Carter, Lakyn, Riley, Kinsley and Collin Dean were the joy of his life and he was eagerly expecting the birth of his sixth grandchild in July. Also surviving are two brothers, William “Buddy” Dean (Bonnie) of Chaplin and Donnie Dean (Marie) of Nicholasville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16th at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy with Rev. Steve Puckett, former pastor of the church, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Keith Creech, the church pastor.
Burial will be in the High View Cemetery at Chaplin.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Shields, Mike Tingle, Eugene Chesser, Stacy Stine, Brian Stine and Lloyd Lewis.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Monday at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy or Gideon’s International.
