Danny Freeman Mattingly, age 79, of Lexington, KY formerly of Springfield passed away at 3:11 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Baptist Health Lexington.
He was born in Lebanon, KY on October 31, 1945 to the late Roy Begley and Ruby Jane McMillin Mattingly.
He was a member of the Springfield Christian Church, a 1963 graduate of Springfield High School, a 1967 graduate of the University of Kentucky having received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a 1976 graduate of the University of Kentucky, School of Pharmacy. Danny served in the United States Army for two years. He worked as a pharmacist for CVS Pharmacy in Lexington.
Preceding him in death was a nephew, Josh Caldwell.
Survivors include his brother Billy Roy (Nancy) Mattingly of O’Fallon, Missouri; his sister, Jane Caldwell of Louisville; four nephews and a niece.
Visitation will be after 12 Noon Friday.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 11th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Roland Youmans, officiating.
Burial will be on Cemetery Hill in Springfield.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Mattingly, Eric Mattingly, Drew Kessinger, Joe Moore, Bruce Wise and Omar Prewitt.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
