Chris Shewmaker

Christopher Dale “Chris” Shewmaker, age 57, of Lebanon, KY passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 at his home.

He was born on October 28, 1967 in Lebanon to Marvin Sweeney and Martha Dell Grider Shewmaker.

Chris was a member of the Lebanon Christian Church, a 1985 graduate of Washington County High School and a 1989 graduate of the University of Kentucky where he was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity.

During his working career he was employed with Telmark Ag Leasing, Walter’s Buildings, Guide One Insurance, Heart of Kentucky Insurance and was an insurance adjuster with Kentucky Growers Insurance Company for many years. His hobbies included woodworking, he was an avid UK Wildcat fan, fishing, golfing, and little league sports.

Preceding him in death was his father, Marvin Sweeney Shewmaker on March 30, 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Deana Durham Shewmaker; two sons, Zachary Shewmaker and Marc Shewmaker; a daughter, Payton Shewmaker all of Lebanon; his mother, Martha Dell Shewmaker of Springfield and two brothers, Mark Shewmaker of Bardstown, and Allen Shewmaker of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 26th at the Lebanon Christian Church with Bro. Bud Owen, officiating.

Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.    

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Frodge, Jamie Abell, Neely Gordon, Charles Young, Jamie Russell, Mark Roney and Isaiah Mayes.

Serving as casket bearers will be Zachary Shewmaker, Marc Shewmaker, Mark Shewmaker, Allen Shewmaker, Eli Shewmaker, Patrick Durham, Brad Cox and Dr. Mark Ackermann.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Monday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 9:00 Tuesday morning at the Lebanon Christian Church.

Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
