Charles William Wright, Sr., age 84 of Lincoln park Road, Springfield, passed away at 1:00 a.m., Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the Hospice In-Patient Care Center in Louisville.
A native of Washington County, he was born on September 8, 1936 to the late Robert E. and Laura Murrell Wright.
He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a retired employee of General Electric Company, County Director for the Washington County Farm Service Agency, and a farmer.
Preceding him in death was a son, Charles William Wright, Jr. on November 9, 2020; three brothers, James Wright, George Wright, Sr. and Bobby Walker and three sisters, Margaret W. Davis, Elizabeth W. Fogle and Alice W. Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa McCormick Wright; a daughter, Kathy Wright of Springfield; a son, Michael J. Wright (Cornita) of Bardstown; a daughter-in-law, Laura Wright of Springfield; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three sisters, Laura Truitt (Benjamin) and Roberta Berry of Louisville and Bernice Simpson (Arthur Sr.) of Maryland; four brothers, Eugene Wright (Barbara) and John E. Wright (Rose) of Louisville, Henry A. Wright (Carol) of Bardstown and Tommy Walker and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held with Rev. Edmund Ditton, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
