Carolyn Obst Obituary

Betty Carolyn Dedman Obst, age 86, of Louisville, formerly of the Tatham Springs Community of Washington County, passed away at 5:56 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Baptist Health in Louisville.

A native of Washington County, she was born on November 26, 1934 to the late R. Custer and Ophia Pinkston Dedman.

She was of the Baptist faith, a graduate of Willisburg High School and the University of Kentucky and was a retired school teacher.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Norman Francis Obst on March 20, 2017, a brother, Robert “Billy” Dedman on May 6, 2012 and a sister, Nancy Devine on December 6, 2020.

Survivors include two nephews, Jimmye Devine of Mackville and John Berry Dedman of Louisville and two nieces, Jane Devine of Willisburg and Marsha Douglas of Mackville.

There will be no public services.

Burial will be on Saturday, July 17th in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg on Saturday.
