Carl Ray Burgen

Carl Ray Burgen, age 88, of Springfield, KY passed away at 5:31 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born in Nelson County on May 1, 1935 to the late Dennis Ray and Georgia Mae Case Burgen.

He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, an Air Force Veteran and a retired employee of General Electric Company.

Preceding him in death was a son, William E. “Willie” Burgen; a grandson, Michael Henry Hundley and three sisters, Kathryn Hardin, Fidi Blanton and Betty Stone.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Hundley (Tommy) of Perryville and Pam Hutchins (Tim) of Springfield; two sons, Ron Burgen of Danville and Kenny Burgen (Sandy Gribbins) of Bardstown; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 18th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel, officiating.

Burial will be in the High View Cemetery at Chaplin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Burgen, Kenny Burgen, Ray Burgen, Austin Hundley, Brian Hundley and Robbie Warner.

Visitation will be from 10 until 1 Monday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
