Callie Jewell Adkins Inman, age 98, of the Texas Community of Washington County, KY passed away at 10:48 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Landmark of Danville Nursing Home in Danville.
She was born in Anderson County on April 3, 1926 to the late Aleck and Lilian Strange Adkins.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, a 1944 graduate of Perryville High School and was the class valedictorian. After graduation her first employment was at Armour Creamery in Springfield where she met her husband, Marshall, she was a retired employee of American Greetings.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Marshall Inman on May 3, 1994; a sister, Alice Rentas and four brothers, Raymond, Hubert, Gene and Teddy Adkins.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Manning of Danville and Janice Inman of Springfield; two sons, Stewart Inman (Nancy) of Thomasville, GA and Norman Inman (Bette) of Springfield; six grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Saturday, May 25th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Oliver Hawkins, Jr., officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Kyle Yankey.
Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ready Sunday School Class at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jeremy Inman, Jason Inman, Brandon Taylor, Caleb Jackson, Mark Inman, Hunter Inman and Billy Denton.
Visitation will be after 11:00 Saturday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
