Brenda Gayle Gillis Scrogham, age 84, of the Kirkland Community of Washington County, KY passed away at 11:59 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2026 at her home.
She was born in Willisburg, KY on June 28, 1941 to the late Otis and Wanda Coulter Gillis.
She was a member of the Willisburg Christian Church, a retired employee of Texas Instruments and a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Patricia Joyce “Pat” Noel on November 8, 2017 and a brother, Teddy Otis Gillis on Jan. 29, 2020.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Garland Scrogham; a son, David Garland (Sherri) Scrogham of Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Kathy Jo (Wes) Holderman of Springfield and Donna Lynnette (Troy) Sutton of Midway; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Freida Carol Bishop of Frankfort; a brother, George Douglas (Miranda) Ruggles of Danville as well as several nieces, nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Allison Standfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 8th at the Willisburg Christian Church with Bro. Lance Ladd officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tobias Schedler and Jason Bush.
Serving as casket bearers will be Wesley Holderman, Bob Holderman, Brandon Metts, Shae Dean, Brenden Chew and Josh Sutton.
An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:00 Sunday evening at the Willisburg Christian Church.
Visitation will be at the Willisburg Christian Church on Sunday, June 7th from 4 until 8 and on Monday morning after 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
