Obituary

Billy Gene Staten, age 81, of Craintown Road, Gravel Switch, KY passed away at 2:13 p.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021 at his home.

A native of Boyle County, he was born on January 11, 1940 to the late John Arthur and Elsie Harmon Staten.

He was a member of the New Beginnings Community Church and a retired employee of the Red Wing Shoe Factory in Danville. He was a 1957 graduate of Perryville High School.

Preceding him in death was his son, Arthur Lee Staten on April 3, 2021and two brothers, Frank Staten and Elbert Staten.

Survivors include his wife, Ina Allen Goode Staten; three daughters, Sandy Hartman of Springfield, Annette Russell and Jeannette King (Junior) of Gravel Switch; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and a sister, Helen Wentworth of Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29th at the New Beginnings Community Church with Rev. Stacy Wilson, the church pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Kenny Carpenter.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Lanham, Brandon Coulter, Derek Padgett, Donnie Staton, Ricky Wentworth and Edward Godbey.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Tuesday and after 8:30 Wednesday morning at the New Beginnings Community Church, 8876 Perryville Road, Springfield, KY
