Betty Hardin Obituary

Betty Lou Sagrecy Hardin, age 89, of Mackville, KY passed away Monday, February 28, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Mackville.

A native of Washington County, she was born on April 1, 1932 to the late Walter Everett and Lydia Christine Grigsby Sagrecy.

She was a member of the Mackville Baptist Church, a former employee of Harrodsburg Health Care, Springfield Redrying Company and  operated the former Hardin’s Grocery at Mackville.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Lee Roy Hardin on January 22, 1992; two sons, Marty Hardin and Doug Hardin on November 27, 1978; a daughter, Deborah O’Nan on April 27, 2010; a great grandson, Landon Phillips on October 13, 2002; a great granddaughter, Alexis Jade Noel on September 14, 2017; a daughter-in-law, Kim Hardin on March 1, 2016; a son-in-law, Joe Carrier on April 13, 2015; three sisters, Mary Sue Hardin on February 19, 2007, Christine Lyvers on March 26, 2017 and Dorothy Lanham on April 15, 2019 and four brothers, William Ray Sagrecy on January 11, 1941, James Sagrecy on April 29, 1992, Charles Joseph Sagrecy on November 16, 2019 and Walter Lee “Bud” Sagrecy on December 25, 2020.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Hardin of Lebanon and Walter Hardin of Harrodsburg; four daughters, Carolyn Carrier of Taylorsville, Peggy Phillips (Connie) of Harrodsburg, Brenda Hardin of Mackville and Melissa Yates (Matt) of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, David Sagrecy of Springfield and three sisters, Mabel Simpson and Margaret Cocanougher both of Springfield and Evelyn Wilcher (Carl) of Mt. Washington.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2nd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Reynolds, officiating.

Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Hardin, Walter Hardin, Josh Noel, Kris Hardin, Jonathan Hardin and Freddie Bottoms.

Visitation will be after 10:00 Wednesday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
