Alton “Boo” Dean, age 76, of Springfield, KY passed away at 4:50 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.
A native of Washington County, he was born on December 26, 1949 to the late Marvin T. and Laura Durr Dean.
He was a retired employee of the City of Springfield and a former employee of BP Gas Station.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Barbara Ann Lewis Dean on July 18, 2016; a sister, Phyllis Hughes and two brothers, William “Woody” Dean and Doug Dean.
Survivors include his daughter, Paula Baker (Steve); his son, Rodney Dean (Jennifer) of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jared Baker, Mackenzie, Hayden and Sarah Beth Dean; two brothers, James Dean (Peggy) of Shepherdsville and Ricky Dean (Dana) of Mackville; two sisters, Melinda Fenwick (Ricky) of Springfield and Carolyn Crawford of Lawrenceburg and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Dean of Springfield.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until 1:00 Saturday.
