Allen DeRice Noel

Allen DeRice Noel, age 93, of Springfield, KY passed away at 5:07 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.

A native of Washington County, he was born on May 17, 1931 to the late John Silas and Alpha Jane Beavers Noel.

He was an  Army Veteran of the Korean War and a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Peggy Spalding Noel on January 16, 2019; two sons, Ronnie Allen Noel on November 11, 2017 and Joseph Bradley Noel on August 31, 2018; two sisters, Patsy Carrier on September 4, 2005 and Elizabeth Keene on July 20, 2017 and two brothers, Thomas Henry Noel on November 26, 1941 and Lloyd E. Noel on February 6, 2011.

Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Libby (Rick) of Springfield; two sons, Michael Noel (Debbie) of Ormond Beach, FL and Kenneth Noel (Carol) of Bardstown; two daughters-in-law, LuAnn Noel of Willisburg and Stephanie Noel of Wellington, FL; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Alice Chambers of Danville, Nancy Mitchell of Peru, IN, Carol Sue Whitehouse of Willisburg and Annelle Noel of Springfield and two brothers, John Noel of Springfield and Ronnie “Jack” Noel (Marilyn) of Willisburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 6th at the Carey & Home Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel and Rev. Culpepper Elliott officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Noel, Phillip Noel, Joey Libby, Stewart Noel, Ryan Noel, Chad Noel, Brit Noel and Drew Noel.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 on Friday and after 8:00 Saturday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
