Mary "Peggy" Delma (Logan) Roach

Mary “Peggy” Delma Logan Roach, 79, departed peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2019 in Fayetteville, NC.  A native of Springfield, Kentucky, Peggy was the daughter of the late Charles “Brownie” and Hazel Brown Logan.   She is preceded in death by her loving brother Charles M. Logan and a cousin, Lula “Sis” Crowdus who was raised in the home.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory and maintain her legacy, her husband of 55 years, Ellis “Sonny” Leonard Roach, Jr of the home; two daughters, Elyse Roach and Marisa Roach Scott, both of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren, James Ellis and Logan Noell Scott., and a host of relatives and friends who will dearly miss her warm smile and compassionate spirit.

Mary graduated from Rosenwald Consolidated High School and continued her education at Kentucky State University.  She began her teaching career at Attucks High School in Hopkinsville, KY and retired after 26 years of service to Fort Bragg Schools at Fort Bragg, NC. 

She returned home to Springfield, KY where her viewing was held on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm, with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm at Johnson Chapel AME Zion Church in Springfield, KY.  Burial followed at Cemetery Hill, Springfield KY 40069.
