Jimmy Joe Weakley, age 77, of Mooresville, passed away at 5:18 a.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Baptist Health in Lexington.
A native of Washington County, he was born on October 31, 1942 to the late Rufus and Mary Cynthia Benham Weakley.
He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and a retired employee of the former Kentucky Milker Center of Springfield.
Preceding him in death was a grandson, Cody Landon Hill; four sisters, Edith Carney, Amy Frances Dean Key, Pauline Holderman and Margie Woford and three brothers, Clarence, Bill and Rufus Cecil Weakley.
Survivors include, a son, Chad Weakley of Longwood, Florida; two daughters, Mandy Linton (Moogie) of Bardstown and Lori Jo Goff (Ricky) of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, Ariane Weakley, Carlee Banks (Jon), Hailee Hill and Evan Weakley; a sister, Brenda Beavers of Louisville; a brother, James D. “Fuzzy” Weakley of Mooresville and Barbara Pulliam of Chaplin, the mother of his children.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 8th at the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Tobe Yankey, the church pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Evan Weakley, Ricky Goff, Moogie Linton, Josey Wells, Dale Spalding, and James Bunch.
Visitation was after 9:00 Friday morning until time of the services at the New Hope Baptist Church.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
